Actualización del manejo de la cetoacidosis diabética según las guías ADA 2024–2026: una scoping review de la evidencia reciente

Las guías de la ADA (2024-2026) han actualizado cómo abordamos la cetoacidosis diabética. Aunque la base sigue siendo la tríada clínica de hiperglucemia, cetonuria y acidosis, ahora el β-hidroxibutirato cobra protagonismo como el marcador principal.
En cuanto al tratamiento, hay dos cambios clave: se prefiere el uso de cristaloides balanceados sobre la solución salina (para evitar la acidosis hiperclorémica) y ya se avala el uso de insulina subcutánea en casos leves o moderados, lo que facilita el manejo fuera de la UCI. A esto se suma que la tecnología, como el monitoreo continuo (CGM), y una buena educación al paciente son las mejores herramientas que tenemos hoy para prevenir recaídas y complicaciones
