Scientific literacy constitutes a key resource for the production and circulation of academic knowledge. In this regard, the present article aims to conduct a literature review on this field within academic contexts, with the purpose of identifying prevailing approaches and trends. To ensure transparency and rigor in the selection and evaluation of studies, the PRISMA protocol was employed, and a systematic search was carried out in high‑impact and widely visible academic databases. The findings highlight the diversity of theoretical and practical perspectives that enrich the understanding of the phenomenon, while also revealing gaps that open opportunities for future empirical research.
