The present study aimed to determine the relationship between the analysis of classical literature and ethical formation in higher education students. To this end, a quantitative methodology was implemented with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The sample consisted of 150 university students, who were administered an ad hoc structured questionnaire with a Likert-type scale to evaluate their reading habits and moral perception. After confirming the non-parametric distribution of the data through the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the Spearman's Rho statistic was used for hypothesis testing. The results revealed a positive and statistically significant correlation between the general variables ($\rho = 0.584$, $p < .001$). Specifically, it was demonstrated that the level of analytical reading depth strongly predicts empathetic sensitivity ($\rho = 0.678$), whereas the mere diversity of consumed genres showed a weak association. It is concluded that reading does not automatically impact morality; it is the cognitive immersion and critical reflection upon narrative dilemmas that truly stimulates social cognition and behavioral integrity in the university student.
