Cobertura de vacunación contra el virus del papiloma humano en niñas de 15 años en México: análisis comparativo con la Región de las Américas basado en indicadores de la Organización Mundial de la Salud

Introducción: La vacunación contra el virus del papiloma humano (VPH) es la estrategia más eficaz para prevenir el cáncer de cuello uterino, importante causa de morbilidad y mortalidad femenina. La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) estableció como meta alcanzar una cobertura del 90% en niñas antes de los 15 años.
Objetivo: Analizar comparativamente la cobertura de vacunación contra el VPH en niñas de 15 años en México y la Región de las Américas entre 2010 y 2024.
Metodología: Estudio ecológico descriptivo y comparativo basado en datos secundarios obtenidos de la plataforma oficial de indicadores de la OMS.
Resultados: Se espera identificar diferencias en la cobertura vacunal y su proximidad a la meta internacional.
Conclusión: El monitoreo continuo de la cobertura permite orientar políticas públicas, fortalecer los programas nacionales de inmunización y acelerar la eliminación del cáncer de cuello uterino.
