Rol de enfermería frente a enfermedades emergentes y reemergentes en América Latina: revisión sistemática con síntesis cualitativa de evidencia mixta

Resumo

Introducción: América Latina enfrenta amenazas infecciosas asociadas con desigualdad social, migración, cambios ambientales y brechas de vigilancia. Objetivo: analizar el rol de enfermería en la prevención y control de enfermedades emergentes y reemergentes en América Latina. Métodos: se realizó una revisión sistemática con síntesis cualitativa de evidencia mixta, orientada por PRISMA 2020, en PubMed/MEDLINE, SciELO, LILACS/BVS, Scopus y fuentes institucionales, con documentos publicados entre 2016 y abril de 2026. Resultados: se identificaron 419 registros y se incluyeron 23 documentos. Los hallazgos se organizaron en siete ejes: educación sanitaria, vigilancia, control de infecciones, cuidado clínico, liderazgo, protección del personal y uso responsable de antimicrobianos. Conclusión: enfermería cumple un rol estratégico en la preparación, prevención y respuesta ante brotes, aunque se requiere fortalecer la investigación regional.
