Objective: To analyze nursing narratives from the perspective of Carper’s patterns of knowledge to understand the lived experience in care. Methods: Qualitative systematic review following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, with systematic search in Scopus, PubMed, SciELO and CINAHL until December 2023. Two independent reviewers conducted selection using Rayyan and assessed methodological quality with CASP. Results: Analysis of 45 narratives revealed holistic integration of the four knowledge patterns. Aesthetic knowledge allows creative application of scientific evidence, while personal and ethical knowledge underpin the therapeutic relationship. Significant barriers were identified including limited narrative competence, lack of patient cooperation and restrictive conditions. Conclusions: Narratives demonstrate the complexity of nursing knowledge, promoting humanized care that integrates patterns interdependently.
