Is it necessary to implement didactic methods to improve communicative competence in the english language in aviation schools?

The article analyzes the importance of strengthening communicative competence in English within the field of aviation, considering its essential role in both national and international flights. Using a qualitative and descriptive approach, it highlights the need to implement didactic methods that facilitate language acquisition, including the use of games and activities in real-life contexts. These strategies aim to improve both aviation-specific technical vocabulary and the ability to adapt to different sociocultural contexts.
The research is supported by a previous thesis focused on flight attendants, in which initial and final assessments were conducted to measure progress in language proficiency. Additionally, role-play activities were implemented before, during, and after flights to evaluate communicative competence. The results show significant improvements, emphasizing role play as an effective pedagogical strategy for learning English in aviation schools.
