This research analyzes the need to integrate formative research as a transverse axis in the university curriculum to guarantee educational quality and foster a culture of scientific production. The study adopts a mixed approach with a multidimensional instrumental case design, evaluating the impact of the transition from a traditional lecture model to a systemic research management model. The results reveal that the formalization of formative research programs generates a 206.67% increase in total publications and an 858.33% rise in the annual publication rate. Furthermore, evidence shows that methodological skills and self-regulation are key predictors of critical thinking (r = 0.68). It is concluded that curricular integration transforms the student from a passive consumer of information into a producer of sovereign knowledge, aligning academic praxis with international accreditation standards.
