This essay analyzes contemporary political art as a mechanism of resistance against the successive crises of neoliberal capitalism. Grounded in Fredric Jameson’s imperative to historicize, the research addresses aesthetic production not as a universal category, but as a symptom of specific historical conjunctures (1973, 1989, 2008, 2011, 2020). The internal tensions of the artistic field, notably commodification and labor precarity, operate here as the material conditions that structure aesthetic action. The text examines artistic responses to the erosion of traditional representation, structural racism, and the global climate emergency through the study of specific modalities: public space intervention, digital network activism, and situated community practices. Faced with the danger of a superficial agitation subordinated to the logics of rapid consumption, this work reclaims art's agency as a horizon of incremental transformation that inhabits its own contradictions to articulate ethical alliances oriented toward disobeying, imagining, and transforming the social environment.
