The study of graffiti in Mayan archaeology has been very limited, as historically greater attention has been given to sculptural and architectural art, not to mention their amazing writing system. Talking about graffiti is also talking about art, and therefore about messages and meanings. Some of the graffiti scenes that we will show in this article have also been reported by other authors. However, we believe that ours are more complete, and while the interpretations are not the same, they are also open to discussion. The importance of this work also lies in the fact that it is the result of several visits over the years to the Kakab site. During all that time, we have seen how unsupervised and little-studied contexts (as is the case here) are also subject to vandalism, which puts at risk future research that could give us more insight into the daily life and unconventional art of the societies that preceded us, like the Maya.
