This review analyzes the potential of mango residues (Mangifera indica) and pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) for ruminant feeding within a circular bioeconomy approach in Atlántico, Colombia. A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA, using searches of scientific databases covering the period 2000–2026, with 50 studies selected on proximate composition, ruminal degradability, antinutritional factors, and secondary metabolites. The results show that mango provides fermentable carbohydrates, pectins, and bioactive compounds, while pigeon pea provides protein, amino acids, and structural fiber, demonstrating nutritional complementarity. Based on this evidence, a conceptual model is proposed that integrates both resources through conservation strategies, waste utilization, and territorial valorization. It is concluded that this alternative could contribute to the sustainability of tropical livestock systems, although experimental validation in vitro and in vivo is required to assess its nutritional, productive, and environmental effects.
