El estilo APA como epistemología para la configuración del campo psicológico: un análisis temático

El estilo de escritura académica promovido por la American Psychological Association en
su Manual de Publicaciones ha tenido cada vez mayor influencia en la investigación social y
humana. Esta manera de comunicar no es neutral, sino que encapsula una epistemología
del campo psicológico estadounisense. El presente artículo documental con enfoque
cualitativo busca comprender cómo esta epistemología, desde sus estandares, se articula
con la configuración del campo psicológico. El objetivo fue comprender las implicaciones de
tal articulación. Se siguió el método descriptivo-interpretativo, que reveló cuatro temas
explicativos del fenómeno: estándares comunes, estándares cuantitativos, estándares
cualitativos y estándares mixtos. Los hallazgos informan que estos estándares fundamentan
y enaltecen el conocimiento psicológico de carácter empírico. La implicación del escrito
sugiere que el estilo de escritura propuesto por la APA refuerza la construcción del campo
psicológico, promoviendo una psicologización estructural de la actividad investigativa en
general.
